The keynote Speaker is Dr David A. Robinson. NJ State Climatologist.Extreme events of late, including Sandy, Irene, and a number of hot summers, suggest that something is happening to NJ’s climate regime. Natural variations alone cannot account for these NJ (and global) anomalies. Human influences on climate are significant, prompting discussion as to how society might mitigate or develop greater resiliency to increasing climate change. This presentation will explore the physical dimensions of the issue, both short and long term. As well as how you can contribute to the monitoring of weather/climate conditions in the local region by participating in the Community Collaborative Rain Hail and Snow Network and how they may follow current weather conditions via the Rutgers New Jersey Weather Network.

Malas on a Mission is a partnership between Marilyn Schlossbach, Executive Chef, Environmentalist, Community Activist and Krista Lynn, Jewelry Designer and Spiritual Workshop Facilitator. Going on our 5th year, our Mission is giving the gift of good intention to people as well as local charities.
Mala Beads have been used for centuries as prayer beads in many cultures. Commonly strung with 108 beads, they serve as meditative talismans with each bead representing a repetition of a mantra or intention. Mala Beads are often worn as a protection against evil spirits, to purify ones mind, body and words and to simply remind you of your personal and spiritual intentions.
Join us for a night of creative beading, inspiration, ocean views, amazing food and drinks led by Krista Lynn of www.kristalynndesigns.com. You will learn about the charity of the night, the Mala Necklace, and tap into your creativity making yourself the gift of good intention. Truly is a wonderful night of Community and Giving Back. You will leave with your very own Mala Necklace to simply use for wear or prayer.
Event starts promptly at 6:30pm. We ask that you arrive between 6-6:15pm to gather your supplies.
Event is open to 35 attendees.

This workshop is three of our four workshops. The keynote Speaker is Dr David A. Robinson. NJ State Climatologist,
Within the past decade, New Jersey has experienced its wettest and warmest years in over a century of observations. Extreme events of late, including Sandy, Irene, and a number of hot summers, suggest that something is happening to NJ’s climate regime. Natural variations alone cannot account for these NJ (and global) anomalies. Human influences on climate are significant, prompting discussion as to how society might mitigate or develop greater resiliency to increasing climate change. This presentation will explore the physical dimensions of the issue, both short and long term. It will also provide information on how interested individuals can contribute to the monitoring of weather/climate conditions in the local region by participating in the Community Collaborative Rain Hail and Snow Network and how they may follow current weather conditions via the Rutgers New Jersey Weather Network.
